Live to your Living Room has signed up to Family Arts Age-Friendly Standards. This accreditation shows cultural organisations are committed to providing welcoming and positive experiences for people, regardless of age.
While older people are avid supporters and patrons of the arts, they are more likely to experience barriers to engagement than younger people. For example, venues may not be completely accessible, older people may struggle with poor transport links, or may not have people to attend shows with.
At Live to your Living Room, nearly 40% of our audience are over the age of 70, with one-third identifying as disabled or having a long-term health condition.
Cat McGill, Creative Director and Co-founder of Live to your Living Room said: “Inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of what we do at Live to your Living Room. Our livestreamed gigs allow older people to enjoy their favourite artists in the comfort of their own home and engage with like-minded fans.
“We’re also committed to supporting other venues to host hybrid gigs through ONEAudience and our consultancy services, helping them provide more inclusive options for older gig-goers.
“We’re looking forward to working with Family Arts moving forward and discovering ways we can improve the experience and services we provide even further.”
